The healing power of music

Music is a crucial part of my life, I literally feel like I could never function without it. I never leave the house without my pair of headsets. This may seem like a fluff piece but for me music is what helps me deal with my anxiety.
According to research music has been used to reduce physical and emotional pain increase the quality of life in medical and psychiatric hospitals, drug and alcohol programs, assisted living facilities and cancer centres. Music can help one calm down, it can assist a person to overcome stress and anxieties. Music can help people meditate and help young children calm down soothe them.
